Okay bro, as if the UNDPI would meet with random conspiracy theory peddlers on the membership roll which is public record. Tell me when that actually happened and any evidence (recordings, statements) and what you even discussed. The WTBTS-UN ‘conspiracy’ was reported on as soon as it happened by multiple “worldly” reporters. The only conspiracy is that WTBTS tries to hide it from its own members, for the rest of the world, this was just a fact that nobody really cared about, because it’s quite normal (at least back then, the UN had “some” weight to the general public) for large groups to be associated. The only reason it’s not, is because their teachings on the UN, which they had significantly watered down by then already.

What was your deconstruction process from being a jw?
by Touchofgrey ini became aware of jws and the un ,so i checked the internet and found it was true that they were a member, and that led me down the rabbits hole and started to look into the history of the bible students and the behaviour of russell and rutherford etc ,and how much the teaching changed and the internal politics and the failed end of the world teachings etc.. i then found myself in a no man's land regarding god and the bible, i then began to use critical thinking regarding the bible and if there was a god , looking into the origins of the bible and it's stories eg adam and eve story, flood legends, exodus from egypt and if the jesus story was historical or not etc .. looking at the origin of our universe and the planet earth led me to the conclusion that no god exists.
.
the purpose of this topic is just to understand your deconstruction purpose from the jws and not to get into arguments about our now held beliefs or lack of.

I walked by a poster session at work from a study that had recently discovered how primates (monkeys, not even apes) were able to do advanced math. I always had my doubts about the creation story but the evolution book and its quasi-science explanations were good enough, but when something I worked on myself disproved things the JW claimed.
I’m not one to sit idly by, I started challenging things, eventually my then-unborn daughter potentially needed surgery and we got “the visit” about the secret no blood for parents guidelines, I challenged it, I couldn’t stand for it, I did a talk challenging the disfellowshipping, an elder talked to me after that said if you don’t believe it, why stay, I didn’t go to the meetings that evening.
All in all it took less than 3 months.

Then there was light.
by Earnest inthe universe came into being 13.8 billion years ago in the big bang.
after an initial flash, it went through a period known as the cosmic dark ages.
according to a new study, probing cosmic dawn, 250 to 350 million years after the big bang the first stars emerged bringing light to the cosmos.

@joey: yes it does before the 10th-13th century, people believed light to be emanating from the eyes. So light does not come from the sun, it is necessary for god to be able to see before he puts things in position, hence light is created first.
The Islamic scholars discovered light was not something our eyes sent out, in the 5th century in India people start to think light was actually coming from sun and stars, put those two things together, and a ‘modern day understanding’ of light was only proven by the 15th century when people started working on telescopes and not until the 17th century with Newton that light was discovered to be energy.
Funnily enough, the most efficient way of illuminating or rendering a scene on the computer is by shooting out rays from the ‘eyes’ of the viewer and then rendering what it ‘sees’ and nothing else. So it’s not so ‘weird’ as we think about light as coming from our eyes, although you would have to accept the world does not exist if people are not there to see it, so you can see some interesting philosophical tendrils.

Armageddon 50th Anniversary
by apostrate inwell, it's been 50 years since armageddon occurred.. seems to me that things haven't really changed all that much.
is it just me or does anyone else seem to think that things have actually got worse??
?.

@budbayview: You're quoting very early 20th century writers, people around the first/second world war, THAT was pretty low at least in our immediate histories, but not the worst event in written history (I would consider the dark ages and the plague to be worse).
Things have always been 'bad' and 'getting worse' and then the next generation thinks the same thing, only when you get older will you see, things have been steadily getting better. Just 50 years ago, if you said you could talk to anyone in the world and have a supercomputer with all the world's libraries and references in your pocket, you'd be considered exceedingly wealthy. Go back 100 years ago, if you had a doctor nearby, police, fire brigade or hospital in your vicinity, access to antibiotics like penicillin you must be living in the Hamptons, now, >99% of the population in the US and >80% of the world population lives with access to emergency and regular healthcare in under 30 minutes. Go back 150-200 years ago, you don't have to worry about food, la-dee-da rich boy, go back 250-300 years ago, the only people in the world that were obese were kings and statesmen.

Must love these Dunning-Kruger idiots.
Medical isotopes are not uranium.
Uranium is not dangerous in and of itself. Iran had just 400kg of enriched uranium, the concern was that they were getting to the point they could highly enrich it in a matter of months. As mentioned before, they didn’t have highly enriched uranium, we prevented them from getting it. Also Chernobyl has (as in all the other reactors are still operating today) an active nuclear reaction, which is basically containing a low yield nuclear bomb and harnessing its energy, yes, if you shoot that and cause a runaway event you’d see traces of that. It’s like saying, your grill doesn’t run on coal, if it were why doesn’t this cold chunk of coal burn me, while you’re standing next to a hot grill cooking your food, you absolute moron.
Funny to see the progression where people feed on their own lies and then ask why you lied as if their previous lies somehow became accepted into facts. Your premise is wrong, we understand you hate the Jews, that doesn’t make you right, it makes you an ignorant idiot.

First of all, they didn’t have highly radioactive materials YET. That’s why the Israeli/US alliance bombed the crap out of them, so they wouldn’t get there.
Second, you don’t just pick up and move these centrifuges. They are like semiconductor and other precision machines, you assemble them once, on site, and then they need power, care and feeding, they can’t withstand shaking them, they need highly technical people (scientists) to run them. The few scientists they had are dead, Russia pulled their nuclear experts out of the country weeks ago, Israel had already cut the power potentially damaging the machines.
Not sure why you would get nuclear fallout, they hadn’t been assembled into bombs YET, even nuclear bombs can be bomb, lost, damaged and would not cause any fallout.
People are way too scared and misinformed about what nuclear material is and its dangers.

Not sure what backwater hole you get your news from, but Israel has sent agents on site and verified the nuclear facilities were completely destroyed. Iran says the same thing. IAEA says the same thing. Satellite imagery says the same thing.
Apparently ‘someone’ leaked a “top secret” report to CNN that claimed the opposite, just hours after the explosions. Although CNN does not mention any sources other than a vague agency, doesn’t show the report, who signed off on it. Just a ‘trust me bro’.

A lot of theories are based on mathematical models, the mathematical models of the universe are mostly true, as recently discovered ‘missing mass’ was just very diffused, a model I heard about 14 years ago, finally proven true by observation.
The problems on both ends are when you are approaching zero on one end or infinity on the other, you get weird properties (division by zero). That doesn’t mean the models are broken, just that the noise in the signal we have form what is observed is driving predictions to the point of absurdity.
Imagine a picture and you keep on zooming, that is basically what we’re doing with the models of the early universe, at some point you just get nothing useful besides a general color (perhaps an average or a spike) until you get more detailed pictures, and then you repeat.
